All about Me and the Jamboree
Hi my name is Sam. I am 12 and I live in Crockenhill, Kent. I've been selected to go to the World Scout Jamboree which will take place in South Korea next August.
The World Scout Jamboree is a festival of over 40,000 Scouts and Explorers from all over the world. There are tons of new things to experience, new people to meet and new cultures to discover. As well as 12 days at the official Jamboree campsite, I will be spending some time in the capital Seoul and being hosted by a Korean family.
I'm incredibley luck to have been chosen as hundreds of Scouts applied for a spot. One of my responsibilities now I've passed the selection process is to fundraise towards the cost of going, which is £4000. That money pays for my flight, accomodation, cultural experiences in Korea, and my necessary kit. Part of the money also goes to paying for Scouts from poorer countries to attend who otherwise couldn't afford it.
